The
Resort is located on Sevilla Island on the world renown BC Sunshine Coast.
The small island is just across the bay from the historical community of
Lund BC. Lund was originally a First Nation’s wintering ground
but later played an important role in re-supplying ships bound for Alaska
and in the fishing industry. Today, Lund BC is still an active fishing center
but has also evolved into a recreational jumping off spot for all points
north. As the road ends at Lund, private boats, float planes, helicopters
and water taxis are the only way to explore the vast areas to the
north. The area around the Resort offers world-class kayaking, hiking,
canoeing, mountain biking, rock climbing, scuba diving and sightseeing.
With towering glacier capped mountains, vast lush forests, crystal clear lakes,
pristine scenic islands and hundreds of miles
of rugged coastline, the BC Sunshine Coast has it all.
The Resort was specifically located on a spit
of land, with the ocean on three sides, to provide great views in every direction.
To the left of the Resort is Finn Bay providing a safe
harbor to both boats and marine life. At different times of the year
herring, salmon and squid school in the bay attracting otters, seals and
the occasional sea lion. The bay also attracts resident birds such as
great blue herons, eagles, kingfishers, sandpipers and
gulls as well as dozens of varieties of migratory species. In front of the Resort is
Lund harbor which during the summer months bustles with recreational
yachts, sailboats, kayaks, prawn boats, shrimp boats and geoduck boats
(we are not going to tell you what a geoducking is, you’ll have to come to
the Resort to find out). Needless to say the view towards Lund is a
constantly changing panorama that is fun to watch from the comfort of an
Adirondack chair with a cool drink in your hand. To the right of the
Resort is the view down Georgia Strait and of Savary Island. Georgia
Strait is the main passage that separates Vancouver Island from BC’s
mainland. In the summer months the cruise ships going to Alaska pass right
in front of the Resort. In the spring and fall it's possible to see
whales and dolphins migrating through the Strait.
The 3500 sqft. Resort was specifically
designed for luxury eco-tourism with four guest suites, a
great hall, kitchen, dining room, exercise room,
oceanside hot tub
and our private living quarters. The interior is decorated in a West
Coast/Santa Fe style with pine ceilings, hemlock floors, wood furnishings
and lots of rich earth tones creating a warm, relaxing environment. The centerpiece of the
Resort is the
great hall which features 24 ft ceilings and three stories of windows
overlooking Lund harbor and the Georgia Strait. This is a “great” room
to relax in, enjoy the activity in the bay, read a book, listen to music
or take in your favorite show via satellite. Like every room in the Resort, the dining room offers a great view of the sunrise at breakfast or
of the marine activity in the bay while you enjoy a candlelight dinner. The
exercise room has a pro-series Bowflex gym and a
commercial grade treadmill with a heart rate monitor. The eight
person hot tub is located on the deck right next to the ocean. The
lack of light pollution make it an excellent location for relaxing and
watching the stars after a days activity.

Each of the four guest suites is
self-contained with private locking doors. Each room has a queen sized bed
overlooking the Georgia Strait and no bed is further than 40 ft from
the ocean. The bathrooms have full baths and are equipped with heat lamps to
take the chill off the tiles in the morning. The bedding, towels and
mattresses are high quality ensuring fluffy towels, soft sheets, warm
duvets and a good nights rest. From an individual comfort perspective all
the rooms have window screens, ceiling fans and individual heating
controls. For the occasional rainy day we have installed 21" flat screen
LCD TV's in all of the guest rooms. Listening to the lapping of the ocean against the rocks is a
great way to fall asleep each night. Each room has a walkout deck with two
Adirondack chairs where you can relax and enjoy the view, boating activity
and marine life. These decks are a great place to end the day with your
favorite beverage.

The Resort has it’s own private float which
makes arrival by boat or floatplane convenient and easy. The float
and the rocky shores around the Resort provide the opportunity to see a
variety of anemones, sea stars, shore crabs and shells. There is an
abundance of marine life around the Resort that can been seen either by
snorkeling or diving although the best time for diving is in the winter
when the water is crystal clear and 75+ ft visibility is the norm. |
